Abstract

The present study was carried out to investigate the presence of phytochemicals in the leaves of Isodon rugosus (Wall. ex Benth.) Codd., Ajuga parviflora Benth and Indigofera heterantha Brandis. The study reveals that methanolic leaf extracts of all these three plants contain important chemical compounds which may be the bioactive constituents. Indigofera heterantha exhibited the highest phytochemical diversity, with five of the six tested groups present. Thus, I. heterantha represents a promising candidate for future pharmacological explorations aimed at discovering new drugs.
