The Journal of Ethnobiology and Environmental Research is committed to transparency in publication and payment processes. This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms governing Article Processing Charges (APC), DOI fees, e-Certificate fees, and related payments.
By submitting a manuscript and/or making payment to the journal, authors agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
1. General Policy

The Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

All payments made to the journal are considered final, unless covered under the refund conditions stated in this policy.

2. Article Processing Charges (APC)
2.1 Indian Authors
APC Structure:
-
Paper without DOI and without e-Certificate – ₹400
-
Paper with DOI and without e-Certificate – ₹800
-
Paper with DOI and with e-Certificate of Publication – ₹900
2.2 International / Foreign Authors
-
APC: USD $30 (All-inclusive)
3. Cancellation by Author and Refund Conditions
3.1 Before Payment
Authors may withdraw their manuscript at any time before making the APC payment without any charges.
3.2 After Payment but Before Publication
If an author requests withdrawal after APC payment but before online publication:
-
A refund may be granted after deducting administrative and processing charges (up to 30%).

If DOI registration has already been initiated, the DOI fee portion is non-refundable.

If an e-Certificate has already been issued, the certificate fee is non-refundable.
3.3 After Publication
Refunds will not be provided in the following cases:

Once the article has been published online and made publicly accessible and a DOI has been assigned.

Retraction due to plagiarism or ethical misconduct, including data fabrication, falsification, duplicate submission, or copyright infringement.

Retraction due to incorrect author information provided during submission, including false authorship details or affiliations.
-
Disputes among authors regarding authorship or consent.
4. Rejection of Manuscript

No APC is required for rejected manuscripts.

If payment was mistakenly made before the final editorial decision, the full amount will be refunded after verification.
If an author makes:

A duplicate payment
-
An incorrect payment
-
A payment due to a technical error
The author must notify the journal within 7 days of the transaction. After verification, the excess amount will be refunded within 2–7 business days.
5. Payment Confirmation Requirement
Authors must send payment proof or transaction ID to:

Failure to provide payment confirmation may delay processing. The journal is not responsible for delays caused by missing or incomplete transaction details.
6. Processing of Approved Refunds

Refunds will be processed using the original mode of payment.

Processing time: 2–7 business days.

Bank or payment gateway charges, if applicable, may be deducted from the refundable amount.
7. Exceptional Circumstances
The journal reserves the right to evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis in situations involving:

Technical errors on the journal’s website
-
Verified billing mistakes
-
System-related duplicate DOI assignment
All refund decisions are final and at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
8. Policy Updates
The Journal of Ethnobiology and Environmental Research reserves the right to modify or update this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Updated versions will be posted on the journal website.
